Belle’s First Spelling Test

Belle, Education 3 Comments »

This forgetful Mommy forgot that today is 31st July! Belle brought her book home on Monday telling me that she has to remember some words. I thought she will never have spelling test. From today onwards, there will be spelling test every week; 3 words a week.

I tried helping her but she refused to let me teach her how to memorize. Instead she go around with her exercise book everyday asking us to spell out the words! Maybe that is how she learn; by teaching others.

I wanted to test her by asking her to write it down coz she always mix up “b” and “d” and will write certain alphabet terbalik. But I delayed because I thought the spelling test is in a few more days. So I happily type out all the alphabet in the spelling list to get hubby to print it out and laminate it today so that we can practice spelling tonight.

I only realized that today is 31st when I went to fetch her from kindy today. When asked, she told me that she knew how to spell all the words. I even tested her in the car. She spelt all correctly.

When I check her exercise book, she got one wrong! :(

More on Barnabas speech development. He never stops to amaze me with his speech. He is really catching up with the lost months when he only signs.

Last night when his daddy asked him to pick up his toys and keep it in the toys box so that it won’t get lost. This is his reply, “Mommy buy some more toys.” Only if your Mommy print money ok! :P

This morning on the way to my mom’s. He said “Papa cycle.” I asked him whether he can cycle, he said “Can” I asked him whether he has a bicycle, he answered, “No. Wait Mommy buy arh.” Only if your Mommy print money ok! :P

In the evening while I was sweeping my room, he wanted to sweep too. He grabbed hold of my broom and sweep together with me. I told him, “Barnabas let go.” He replied, “Mommy let go!” “Barnabas let go.” “Mommy let go!”

I lost patience and snatched it from him. He got angry and scolded me. “Mommy notti. Barbas beat Mommy. Mommy notti. Barbas want play (com)puter. Mommy notti!” As he was saying that he climbed on my chair and pretend type on my laptop.

That’s my Engkong (grandfather).

abc

I need to drink something cold but there is no ice in the freezer coz it is filled with Frozen Durians and no cold water too; no space for that too.

It is only 9.30pm so I dragged all my 3 children and head to the nearest ABC shop to enjoy ice cold dessert for supper. :D

Look they are in their pajamas already, except Barnabas. ;)

See & Hug Mommy

Yesterday, I left them behind to do some work at my apartment. Came home after midnight; the children slept. As I was about to wrap up my work online around 3am; I heard Barnabas cry for Mommy. Quickly went to get him and he was so happy to see me. Told me, “Sleep (with) Mommy.”

So I slept with him. I covered my face with my bolster, he pushed it away, “Mo see Mommy.”

He was hugging his pillows but decided to push it aside, “Mo hug Mommy.”

Awwwww…isn’t he so sweet.

Mo = Want

Chicken Pox Scar

scar

Can you see the 2 deep holes on Barnabas forehead? That is the deepest Chicken Pox scar on his body. Sad that it chose to be on his face. I am still wondering how it can be so deep. He didn’t break the Chicken Pox there nor scratch it; he didn’t even know there are pox there! It just decided to grow big. :(

Those that saw his scar commented that the scar will never go off. I was hoping that it will but after a few comments from SILs, I lost hope. I just hope that that will be only scar on his face. No acne scar please; like his mommy.

Allergic to Labels

label

My son is allergic to labels. He cannot stand seeing or feeling any label on his t-shirt, shirt or pajamas. He will make noise until I cut it away; be it soft labels or those hard ones.

Maybe the hard ones is poking his neck, that is acceptable; I hate those type of labels too but those soft ones, doesn’t irritate you at all but not him.

I just cut another label on his pajamas yesterday. Before this he is fine with it. Now he is becoming extra sensitive! :P

A Blog for Each

Computers & Internet, Menceceh, Parenting No Comments »

I was just talking to a friend about starting mini sites. More like a blog for each of my children rather than all in one like what I am doing now. Later when they grow older, I just can hand the blogs over to them and let them continue writing their own journal from where I left.

I was thinking about subdomain but individual domain is always better. They might want to monetize their blog like their mommy; who knows right? hehe. So I was thinking maybe I should find cheap hosting that offers free domain; killing 2 birds with one stone. I am looking at Web Hosting Geeks now. Tempting offer; below $5 a month, free this and free that.

Looks like they gonna have their own blog soon. :D

Muffins Lover

muffin

A few days ago their daddy went for a meeting and brought home something that looks like muffins. I said “looks like” because it does not taste like muffins at all! Anyway, my children can’t get enough of just one muffin.

Belle told me that she loves muffin and asked me to buy some for her. So I told her that I will bake them instead. :D It only takes 30 minutes to get the muffins on the table if you have all the ingredient in hand. Check out my Muffins in 30 Minutes in my recipe blog.

My Belle cannot tahan see my muffins. She will wallop 2 muffins at one time and I have to stop her. 2 hours later, another one then another. You see lar her badan. :P

Yesterday I received my $1.99 Bento Box (Shipping $3.99!!!). It is tiny but ngam ngam for me to put 2 muffins for Belle.

Here’s my Muffins and Apams Bento:

Belle ate the Apam in school and Muffins after school in the car on the way home. Then she can eat lunch some more!!! No wonder tembam like Apam!

Cough Remedy: Water

Belle, Health 4 Comments »

The fruit season is here and we are feasting on all kinds of local fruit everyday. They are so good that we can’t resist just eating one or two. Further more, they are free. Either we pluck from the tree (rambutan), wait for it to drop (durian), neighbour come to share theirs (durian, langsat, binjai, longan) and from grandfather’s tree (mangosteen, langsat). All this fruit are heaty fruits. Eat too much of it, you will surely start coughing and get sore throat.

It is easier for the adult to control but for the children; once you are out of their sight, they pluck the rambutan and eat as much as they can.

I have no problem with my 2 little ones because they are too short to reach the rambutans but Belle is coughing now!

I wanted to bring her to the doctor but hubby said that it is not necessary. “Just make sure she drinks lots of water.” So once we arrived the kindergarten, I told the teacher to make sure Belle drinks a lot of water. By the time I fetch her, I don’t hear her coughing anymore; I thought of still bringing her to the doctor.

I asked why is she not coughing. She told me that she drank a lot of water; finished the whole bottle and her teacher top up again but she cannot finish all; too much.

The cough didn’t go away immediately; she still cough but not to the extend that her lung might pop out. Whenever I hear her coughing non stop, I will remind her to drink a cup of water and she can gulp a full cup at one go; just like her daddy. I cannot drink so much water at one time; my tummy cannot take it.

Today, I have not hear her cough. So remember, get your children to drink a lot, a lot, I mean A LOT of water when they cough.

Based on the Glossy Blue theme.
