Watch TV Way Too Close

Clarissa, Health No Comments »

I am not so sure whether Clarissa have problem with her eyes. Whether she watches TV, she will stand right in front of the tv screen. No matter how many times we tell her to back off, she will walk right back there and watch her show.

Most of the time I will switch off the TV if she still refuses to back off. Sometimes it is my show. sop sop sop Maybe we should get the tv wall mount and hang the TV high up on the wall.

As for now, no watching TV at home.

After this Genting trip, I need to bring her to see the optometrist to confirm whether there is anything wrong with her eye sight. :( Cannot procrastinate anymore.

Staying in A Hotel

Holiday No Comments »

My children were so excited when I told them that we will be sleeping in a hotel room. Even though this is not the first time they sleeping in a hotel room, the diversion from the norms is always exciting.

I booked a room at Theme Park Hotel after recommendation from a daddy blogger who has stayed there numerous times. He told me that the room is quite spacious and suitable for bigger family. Well, for the price we are paying, I can’t expect it to be as good as Las Vegas Hotels but as long as it is clean and spacious, I will be contented.

Snowing in Genting Highland

Belle, Holiday 6 Comments »

I hope Belle would not be disappointed when we arrive in Genting Highland this Monday.

Me: Why do you want to go to Genting Highland?
Belle: Because there is snow there. I love snow, Mommy. I love to make snowman.

From what I gathered through our conversation about Genting Highland, I got the feeling that she is expected Genting Highland to be covered with snow.

I wonder whether the late Kong Kong Tong Tong can request God to send snow to Genting Highland on Monday.

Ear Wax

Clarissa, Health 16 Comments »

ear wax

Do you have problem digging out your children’s ear wax?

I have, with Clarissa’s. She has the dry type which turned into a small ball, like bearing after a while. I have to use the above tool to dig it out and it is VERY challenging to do that. She will struggle and giggle.

The rest of us have the wet wax, so cleaning is very easy, just use the cotton bud.

The only member in my family that has the dried wax is my brother. I still remember helping my mom to pin him down on her thigh while she tried to get the “ball” out from his ear!

It was fun.

Now I get to “enjoy” doing that with my own daughter!

Why Not Russian Women

Marriage No Comments »

One of my church members’ sons is studying medicine in Russia. When he came back for the holiday, I was expecting him to bring back Russian woman but he brought back an Ipoh girl. Hmmm…Russian women not pretty meh? Lots of men from all over Europe and America have taken a keen interest in Russian women. They are very homely type of women; family comes first before career. Good candidate for a housewife.

Maybe Russian women are not for Asian men coz most women here still hold the family value; family first. Look at me; I quit my not so bad paying job for the sake of my children. And lots of mommies I know are doing the same too. :D

Fried Egg

egg

Fried Egg with a dash of dark and light soy sauce is my children’s favorite food.

So far, I have not come across any children that do not like fried egg. Anyone?

Whenever there is no non-chili food for them. I will head to the kitchen and fry the eggs for them.

They will wipe clean every single grains of rice from their plate and if I am not looking, they would even lick their plate after licking clean their fingers.

Finger licking good, more delicious than KFC franchise coz I never see them licking their fingers after eating the KFC fried chicken. :P

Learning Maths the Fun Way

Education No Comments »

maths

I bought this book not long ago. I love Maths and I want my children to have the same interest as me too. After I went through the book, how I wish they were available during my school days. Maths would just be at my fingertips. Lots of good trick on Multiplication.

Unfortunately, Belle is not ready for it. She has yet to learn how to count 1 - 100. So the book have to sit in the bookshelf for a while. ;)

drawing

Belle loves to draw. Once she arrives home from my mom’s, she will find a piece of paper, any paper, envelopes, bills, catalog, any paper that has some blank space on it and a pencil or pen then she starts drawing. She will draw mermaid, fairy, people, children; lots of them, chicken, eggs, trees, flowers, fish, tadpoles, lizards, birds, cloud, house, grass, car etc.

And now, I have no problem making sure she finishes her school work. She will quickly complete them and start drawing again!

Unfortunately, I am not good at drawing. I can’t even draw a chicken that look like a chicken!

Praise God I found out that my maid can draw after I saw Belle drew a nice car. She told me that her Kakak taught her. That’s really wonderful. Since then, I requested the maid to teach Belle whatever she knows about drawing. :D I understand from the maid that her daughter is very good at drawing portrait. Too bad she is not here.

All I know that creativity runs in the Bong family. Hubby’s 3rd sister is very good at drawing and painting too. The rest of the Bongs can draw too.

Happy Easter Day

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Easter is not about colourful eggs and bunnies.

Easter is the pivotal point of Christian faith. It is the turning point of all history, when the God who became man in Jesus died on the cross and ROSE from the grave. That is the reason we celebrate Easter; our Saviour lives.

God’s Not Dead, He is Alive

Tickling The World

Belle, Fun 4 Comments »

Belle: Mommy, is the world (i think she meant Earth) laughing now?
Me: Huh? Why is the world laughing?
Belle: Because you are driving. When you drive, you tickles the world.

If I am the earth, I would be laughing hysterically now or maybe I would have exploded because there are so many, I mean SO MANY cars tickling me now.

Kids and their imagination. :D

Bigger Car

Belle, Family, Finance 1 Comment »

My girls followed their uncle and grandmother to visit Shannelle (the 27th grandchildren) again.

That night after I bathe them, Belle said this…

“Mommy, we are bigger now, you must buy a bigger car.”

I wonder whether her uncles told her to tell me about it or she memang wanted a bigger car because the rest of her cousins’ daddy have bigger cars.

So I told her that bigger car is very expensive and mommy cannot afford it unless someone bless us with gold bullion. ;)

“Oh! Bigger car is very expensive ya, Mommy.”

“Yes.”

That’s the end of our buying bigger car conversation and this is not the first time she asked for bigger car. I am sure in time to come she will ask again. Hopefully by then, we could afford too buy bigger car or even gold bullion. ;)

Pet Hamster

Should I get a pair now? Since her birthday is coming soon or should I wait for another 2 years? Since I did promise her that she can only have a pet when she is 7yo.

Each time when I bring Belle shopping with me, she will aim for those pet toys. To date, she has a pet hamster, monkey, pony and kitten.

At what age, do you think they would be able to care for a pet?

psst…i think Belle will go crazy seeing the above super cute hamster. i am so tempted to get a pair for myself now!

Things To Prepare for Genting Trip

Family, Holiday 1 Comment »

11 days to our first Genting holiday with the girls. We will be staying in Genting Theme Park Hotel by recommendation from Egghead. For family, it would be wonderful if they have condo hotel that offer all of the amenities of a hotel with the comfort and convenience of a condo.

Anyway, I am trying to think hard what are the things that I should prepare for my girls before the trip.

Sweater - Check
Sport Shoe - Check
Socks - Check
Long Pants - Check

That’s all I can come up with. Anything else?

Grandmother at 36yo

Family No Comments »

You can only achieve that if you get your first child before 18 and your children give birth before 18 too. That normally happens to the poor. My maid is a grandmother at 36. Her eldest daughter just gave birth and she was so excited. After hanging up, she called Belle to her room and shared her happiness with Belle.

Belle even wanted to buy baby gifts for her Kakak’s grandchild and see the baby. She was quite disappointed when the maid told her that the baby lives very far from here.

I did ask the maid whether she wants to send any gifts to her daughter but she decline. Things here are way too expensive for her.

What is Shower Faucets For?

Family, Fun, Home No Comments »

Shower faucets are microphone to my girls and gun/pistol to me. Shoot them when they do not want to rinse the soap on their body. And they will always fight for it because in each bathroom there is only one.

To Barnabas, the shower faucet is a lollipop because all I see he did when he managed to grab hold of it is licking it. He loves licking the water from the faucet!

Bathing Time

Family, Fun, Home No Comments »

How long do you spend bathing your children? Mine will take as long as one hour to bathe all three of them plus myself.

It is a challenge to get all three into the bathroom but once they are in, it is also another challenge to get them out of there.

Firstly, I will have to allow them to bring along their favorite toys, even those that is not water proof. Then they would need handkerchief to bathe their dolls and later, after they got bored with their toys, they will “help” to clean the bathroom fixtures.

In between play and clean, I will drag one at the time to soap and scrub them. :D

Wedding Planning

Family, Marriage No Comments »

My girls enjoy hanging around their auntie’s (Ee Ee) room. She is getting married end of this year. The bride’s side dinner will be on the eve of my birthday. That day will be my most expensive birthday dinner. :P

Oh ya, the reason my girls love her room is because she is doing her own Wedding Planning so her room is filled with wedding gifts, wrappers, ribbons, cute toys, etc. Since a few of her friends and her sisters are already married, she received lots of ideas from us on how to plan for her own wedding. That saves a lot of money from hiring a wedding planner.

Lofts

Home No Comments »

If I can afford it, it will be nice to have lofts as our home, especially if you have many children. Lofts are a type of condominium that originated when warehouses were converted into apartments and condominiums. So you can imagine the wide open space that they have. Unfortunately they are quite expensive, that’s why I said, if I can afford it.

No Cutter or Scissor for My Girl Yet

Belle, Clarissa, Parenting No Comments »

It freaks me out when I saw my girls holding a cutter, a knife or even a scissor. Some kids at their age are already good at using the scissors. Maybe I got cut too many times when I was young that holds me back from teaching them to use those “weapon”. Even there are such thing called the safety cutters, I still doubt my girls can handle them; especially my Clarissa, she is too playful and careless with whatever stuff that she holds.

Precious Offspring

Family No Comments »

Offspring is much awaited in a marriage; for those who love children. I feel sad to know that some married couple didn’t want to have any children. They do not know the joy that they are missing in life.

They maybe noisy and sometimes makes you go crazy but they will make you laugh and smile the most. They will also bring out the best and the worst of you too! hahaha.

If anyone were to harm my children, I will make sure I find the best attorney to sue that person. I might even consider to hire the Personal Injury Attorney in San Antonio. They are more precious that money.

New Hair Cut

Beauty, Clarissa, Parenting 8 Comments »

No more long messy hair. If you want to keep long hair, please let it be tied up. If not snip snip. :P

hair

I wanted to trim her hair a few times but she refused. Today, my mom also kenot stand it anymore and coax Clarissa to let me cut her hair. She agreed. Apalagi, gua cepat cepat balik, strip her naked and trim her hair in the bathroom.

To trim Clarissa’s hair is a big challenge because she cannot sit still, cannot sit up straight and refused to obey my instruction.

Look down - she will bend really low instead of just looking down.

Sit up straight - she will do it but for a second only.

Don’t move - she moves!

Whatever instruction I gave, she will do the opposite!

Thank God, her hair turn out alright at the end of it. *fuh*

I like this hair style. It reveals her face and makes her look even cuter. :D

Kindy Uniform

uniform
She is not in the mood for photo shoot early in the morning.

Finally after 3.5 months Belle is wearing her kindy uniform. Not because she didn’t want to wear it but they didn’t have her size; L and the tailor took so long to sew them. I was tempted to trouble Jess to sew the uniform for Belle.

Clarissa is very upset because she didn’t have any.

A Sedan or MPV

Family, Finance No Comments »

With 3 children, a MIL and a maid, we can’t travel together in one car unless we own a MPV or a van. I am planning to buy one MPV but with 3 children, I am a little bit tight financially.

I am undecided whether to get a used car or a new car. With 50k, I can get a new Proton but that is just a sedan car. With that amount of money too, I can get a MPV but used car. As in terms of maintenance, obviously a Ford Radiator is more costly than a Proton radiator unless I can get them straight from the manufacturer.

If only my old junk not given us any problem anymore. :(

Tied To The Chair

Belle, Clarissa, Parenting 12 Comments »

tied

I tied someone to the chair today! Can guess who she is? I am sure you can. :P

I am so tired of telling her “No”, “Don’t” and “Can’t”. My patience snapped when she snatched the pink ribbon from Belle and pinched her. This is not the first time she bullied her sister.

She saw me coming and squeezed herself behind the wooden settee. Get her out from there, seated her on the chair and tied her with the pink ribbon. She cried but only for a lil while, she is more distracted by the cartoon showing on TV. :D

Belle got so worried…

B: Mommy let her go.
M: She notti what, she beats you.
B: *smiled* When are you going to let her go?
M: When daddy comes back.
B: Why daddy so slow one?

B: Mommy, you tie Clarissa on the chair, can die or not?
M: She won’t die unless she has no food and water to drink for a few days.
B: You give her food lar.
M: She just ate.
B: What about water? I go take arh?

B: Clarissa, drink.
C: I don’t want.
B: *almost shed tears*
B: Mommy she don’t want to drink.
M: Then let her be.

What happened next was, she taught her sister how to escape.

escape

I just hope and pray that Clarissa will learn to love her sister as much as her sister loves her.

This is my way of disciplining my children. I do not want them ending up in drug rehab. That is what happened to one my church members’ son. Her husband always let his son have his own way; never punish him and he ended up going in and out of the drug rehab centre.

Succession Plan

Family, Work No Comments »

I have done my succession plan months before I tender my resignation. Teaching them all they need to know to take over my “one leg kick all job” before I retired from the working world to be a SAHM which I am greatly needed there; at home with my children. Unfortunately, they took my training lightly thinking that I wasn’t serious with what I told them. Now I have to remind them not to call me between 3pm-5pm coz that’s my children’s nap time and mine too. I am enjoying my life now. :D

Vacation or Car

Family, Finance, Holiday Comments Off

Where next after Genting? If I buy a new car, then no more vacation for a very long time. If I don’t buy a new car, we can even afford staying at Vacaciones Hoteles after a year or 2 savings.

I pray that God will really bless us financially. I can have enough for my children’s education, for a new car, and a yearly vacation. If can’t go oversea also never mind. As long as I can afford to bring my children out from here for a day or two. They are very excited about our coming vacation. They behave so well!

Sicklings

Barnabas, Belle, Clarissa, Health, Parenting 6 Comments »

I have runny nose and of course that comes with blocked nose too. Funny isn’t it? Runny and yet can block one.

Belle is having a temperature. My fault! I slept with her last night. I think I passed my germs to her. Mommy is so sorry, Belle. :(

She is happy though when I told her that she does not have to go to school tomorrow. :P

Barnabas is in pain now. Just got his last jab today. He really has low tolerance of pain. Yesterday was his 21 month old birthday and no blog post about it. I have the video clip ready but not in the mood to think and write a lengthy post. I’ll backdate the post once I am up and running.

Clarissa must sleep with daddy tonight and not with us!

Since this is the last immunisation jab for Barnabas, here’s a video of him in pain. He had slight fever and refused to drink milk due to the pain. Wanted to be carried all the time until he fell asleep.

Kicking The Chick

Belle, Clarissa, Parenting 3 Comments »

I heard my BIL scolded Clarissa for kicking the chick. I let it be because I know this girl of mine can be very naughty at times. I heard she cried and then I saw Belle holding her hand bringing her to me.

Me: Why did you cry?
C: Empek scold me.
Me: Why did Empek scold you?
C: Empek very naughty. (putting the blame on others)
Me: Why Empek very naughty?
C: Because he scold me.
Me: Why did he scold you?
C: Because I kick the chick.
Me: Why did you kick the chick?
C: Because Empek scold me. (still putting the blame on others)
Me: Before Empek scold you, why did you kick the chick?
C: Because I very naughty.

She did not answer that by herself. Belle was holding her hand during the interrogation and whispered the last sentence to her so that she won’t get scolding from me! So sayang her notti sister. :P

Handwriting

Belle, Education 12 Comments »

writing

I do not know about other parents but I am quite particular when it comes to handwriting.

I am quite disappointed with Belle’s teacher handwriting. What is the point of having the red lines and the blue lines in the exercise book if you do not write according to the lines?

When it comes to handwriting, to me, you must start it right. Belle even asked me, “Mommy why the teacher write senget (slanting)? So I told her not to follow her teacher’s handwriting and I wrote the correct one for her to follow; the Arnab, Burung and Buku is mine. :)

Her teacher handwriting is nice but that is not the way to write for a 5yo to follow. Belle will imitate, bulat-bulat!

So, what did I do? Drive to the nearest sundry shop and bought 2 exercise books. Start all over again with Belle.

Tomorrow, I will speak to the principal about this.

If not because of Chinese, I would have pulled my girls out from kindy.

Not Our Car for Genting

Family, Holiday No Comments »

On the way to the estate, we realised that hubby’s car is still not fit for long distance travel. The back left side of the car still makes a lot of sound if an adult sits over there even though the absorber pump has been changed. Even the pick up is not that good. So hubby doubt that the car can climb the Genting slopes.

So, we have no choice but to stop over at the BIL’s house in Rawang and borrow his car instead.

Now, we are busy searching for a good used car to buy. If not, maybe change the car engine again. If only midwest auto recycling is here. Save our trouble looking for good recycle engine.

Based on the Glossy Blue theme.
