Biting To Get My Attention
Clarissa, Parenting December 5th, 2007Recently Clarissa starts biting again. She bites her sister when she can’t get what she wanted from her sister. She bites me to get my attention.
I was chatting with Jo-N, she has a biter at home too; suddenly it occurred to me that Clarissa does crave for my attention. I have not been spending one on one quality time with here.
Being the middle child who is extremely independent, many times she is neglected. To get my attention she will do a lot of notti things which includes biting and hitting her brother. By doing this, she will surely get my attention.
A few times I brought her out with me to the sundry shop and supermarket; just the two of us. We will chat in the car and the one question that she will always ask, “Mommy you love me or not?†This is so obvious right. I have not been showing her type of love, Quality Time. I know what I want to do tonight. Mommy and daughter night out. Just Clarissa and Me.

I don\’t have this problem with my toddler thus far. But he is learning how to get angry at me and raising his voice. It\’s certainly hard being a parent sometimes.
No one ever say that parenting is a bed of roses. But it\’s fun and challenging.

Lyon will talk louder and louder to me once she saw me talk with Wien, try to catch my attention too. Sometimes really hard to spend equally time for them.
Ya ya, my girls do that too especially when I am talking to their daddy. Then I have to remind that again and again that they are being rude by doing that.

Oh no, the 2nd child symptom again! …till today my parents have similar prob with my sis too although she is married with 2 kids.
Wow! Maybe she still craves for the attention which she did not get when she was young. Poor her. That is why as parents we have to consciously make time for each of our children.

2nd child syndrome…hhmm….so far my boy is alrite, he\’s very independent and till now have not shown any jealously towards baby. But my boy is a biter, not biting his sibling, but me when he\’s \”geram\”. My brother whose zodiac is a monkey just like my boy still bites my mum until these day.
Maybe not yet coz baby still small, you wait a few more months and then u can blog about it.
How old is your brother??? My Clarissa is also Monkey; does that means that I will kena bite until the day I leave this earth???
