In His Time

My boy now is down with fever but it is a mild ones. Coughing occasionally. He either got it for his sister or yours truly. I am coughing too.

This morning, I sent him to my mom’s and she immediately gave her the paracetamol syrup. The temperature left and only came back at 5pm. So I quickly bring him to the clinic worrying that it will get worse if he does not get his antibiotic.

There is another doctor today, younger and pretty too.

His temperature was only 37.2. His breathing is fine and she did not hear a single cough from Barnabas.

So she said that cough medicine and antibiotic is not necessarily since he is only 18 mths old. Don’t want him to be antibiotic dependent. Just sponging and paracetamol every 6 hours for 2 more days will do the job.

Total spent, RM5. If the normal doctor, already gave me all the medicine that she can prescribe!

What is my boy doing now? Out playing in the house compound with his sisters and cousin. Running around to sweat it out.

Hubby wanted to bring us to the beach but I refused as their are still sick and me too. I think we will go there right before midnight, just the two of us to watch the fireworks, if there is any.

So far I never hear anyone say “NO” to the above unless he/she is not well physically.

Because my mom makes pineapple tart, I hardly touch anyone’s else unless they are as good and as neat as my mom’s.

A few year back, they don’t have the ready made flower mold. It is just flat so, we have to “kepit” the side to make the flower. I am so expect at that and I did it neatly and fine too. When I see others doing it so “chor lor” and huge, I will not even touch the tarts even though it tasted nice. Ya ya ya, I am so picky!

My girls love pineapple tarts. They will eat till they see none of it left in the container!

Now it comes with the ready made “flower”. So I am out of job. It came just in time after I got married when my mom “lost” a pineapple tart employee. hehehe. To use it, you just need to press it on the flour that has been rolled flat but not so flat lar. Unfortunately the man who made the above mold has passed away. So far my mom knows no one that can make the same. It is made of copper and wood and it cost more than a hundred ringgit for one.

However you can get the above plastic mold from any shopping centre. Not so nice but as long as got hole, can sumbat.

Recipe for the pastry. No! We did not use lard so, ours is HALAL!

600g Flour
250 Butter or Margerine
6 Egg Yolk
3 White Egg

Let’s do some year end reflection on my spending. This year I really swipes. A LOT! A few of the bigs ones. I upgraded my broadband to 1Mbs which comes with free PC, I bought a laptop, a LCD monitor, a leather office chair and lots of dinning out.

I thank God that I have a few credit cards. In less than 3 months time, even if I wanna get the Sports Credit Card Low APR, I can’t apply for it as I have no proof of income anymore even though I will be earning, more than my current income (I hope) coz I have no more payslip. But it is ok, I must control my spending after resigning.

She has been sick since Christmas Eve. It started with coughing and runny nose then followed by fever and sore throat. Brought her to the clinic on Christmas Day but it got worse after taking those syrups.

For the first few rounds she is very cooperative in feeding herself but after that we have to threaten her with the cane. No, we did not cane, just waving the cane. We resort to waving the cane because she doesn’t want to listen to our advice, bribe or even threat like sending her to the hospital.

She is eating very little and didn’t drink her milk too. She will ask for milk; after one sip, she gave the bottle back to me. I asked whether her throat is painful, she denied it then to sleep she went. She can sleep with hungry stomach. Just like her mommy! hehe. But thank God she is drinking a lot of water than normal days especially when it is time to drink her medicine.

“Clarissa, Nah. Drink the white medicine (antibiotic).”
“I want water first.”
I waited.
“Clarissa, faster drink this medicine.
“Wait ah, I drink my water first.”
Then she reluctantly opens her mouth to drink her medicine.
“Faster, I want my water.”

The above repeats for all 4 of her medicines.

Yesterday, the fever left her. What a relief! But she almost lost her voice.

Unfortunately, Belle started coughing too but I quickly gave her some medication. So she is still under control.

My throat wasn’t feeling good yesterday and my nose is very itchy and I have runny nose too. Maybe it is due to heatiness. The New Year’s wind is always very dry. So I get hubby to get me some coconut water to cool down my body.

Since I promised Clarissa that I will bring her to the playground when she is better, I brought her to Tesco to play. Look how happy she is. But that is not after she had her dinner. Another trick to make her eat. It was porridge from Marrybrown.

Today, it will be my turn to visit the doctor. Can’t stand the itchiness. Feels like plucking my nose out and scratch the inside.

The only time we are pampered with wines without needing to visit any pubs is during our confinement period. Unfortunately, I did not take the advantage fearing that wine will be too heaty for me. I did not even take a gulp of DOM. The only wine that I took is in my food.

I wanted to spend some quality time with Belle. So, instead of buying more toys for her this Christmas, I bought a box of board games which I can play with her and her daddy too.

Since I took half day leave yesterday, I squeezed sometime between taking care of my sick girl, Clarissa and playing board games with Belle.

We started with Checkers. She told me that she knew how to play the game but she got very upset when I “eat” her. When I wasn’t looking, she moved my piece.

“Mommy look! You cannot “eat” me now.”
“You cannot move Mommy’s one.”
“Teacher say CAN!”

I need to speak to her teacher when her kindy reopens.

So I decided we play a simpler game, Snake & Ladder. Unfortunately, when I overtook her, she sulks! She does not want to be on the losing side and she wanted No.6 all the time and purposely “let go” the dice so that it will fall at No.6!

This is what happened when she stopped at a long snake and I was way ahead of her. She ended the game!

I was tempted to ask my hubby for something special for my belated birthday. Most of you know that I suffered from acne when I was in my teens and sometimes I wish that I can have a smoother face skin. Okay… what I wanted to ask my hubby is to buy for me one beauty package. I want one where they will smoothen my face with their beauty products. Oh…the products must be made from natural ingredients like R.G. Skin Revitalizer.

Since this product is made of Gâc, I am sure it would go well with my skin. Gâc is a bright-red fruit that grows as large as a cantaloupe and abundantly on vines all over sub-tropical Asia, especially in Vietnam. I do not think I want products that are made from various chemicals as it can be dangerous and risky for my skin. You see, I have very sensitive skin and I cannot simply use any facial products.

I am not sure about you girls but I know I can only use certain products in the market. I would have to try out the beauty product first by buying a small bottle of it. Normally, it would be in the size of the sample bottle. Once I tried it and if it goes well with my skin, then only I would buy the regular bottle size of the product. However, since my hubby has bought me another special gift, I think I will skip this beauty package for next year.

Parents if possible please refrain your children from sucking their thumb/finger. This has to start when they are about to start it when they are an infant unless you can be with your child all the time to make sure their fingers are cleaned before they start chup chup chup.

As for me, it is too late unless I could have the heart to see her cry the whole night when she wants to sleep.

Clarissa is having fever again due to throat infection. It must be the germs from her fingers. You see during weekend, my children play outdoor most of the time. So I suspected when I busy looking after Barnabas or napping, she must have picked her bantal busuk and suck without washing her finger first.

I reminded her many times about this but I am not blaming her, she is only 3 years old.

Since I have 3 children, not only I don’t have time to exercise, to watch my favorite game on TV also no time. Due to it, I am getting unfit and fatter each day. I wish someone would surprise me with the super bowl tickets then I could catch the next flight and treat that as my 2nd honeymoon. Wouldn’t that be great ya? To be able to watch a football game live. It must be very “chi kek” with all the cheering, shouting and eating hotdogs. Oh well, that is only a wish. Meantime I tried to steal sometime to watch them on TV.

Belle did so well in the nativity act. Just watch the clips. She really sings and “dance” along compared to the rest beside and behind her. Actually they are not supposed to dance but to just be still. What a bore, right? Thank God the teachers don’t discourage those that want to follow along.

Next year, I am pretty sure she no longer wants to be a lamb. I already told her teachers to let her dance next year. Belle loves to dance, just like her mommy.
