On Mommy’s Birthday

Family, Parenting No Comments »

Mommy took a day off from work and spend time with daddy. You can read all about it here.

At night, daddy and mommy wanted to go out again but Barnabas felt sick.

You are more important than mommy’s birthday dinner. Furthermore, Mommy is still so stuffed with the buffet lunch. :D

Pre-Birthday Celebration

Belle, Clarissa, Family 11 Comments »

33rd bday

Thanks to Msau, Chooi Peng and Jess, I had my pre-birthday celebration just now. Marble Cheese Cake and 3 stalks of roses from them. Aren’t they sweet. :D

I was thinking, why Cheese Cake ah? I think they envy me coz I am much slimmer than them. Alamak! I have no diet pills, sure fat one. :P

yum

After the Happy Birthday song sung by my girls, dunno how many times coz I was trying to start a video call with Chooi Peng to let her see the cake and roses she gave, the girls help me blow the candle, chopped the cake, eat, play and squeeze the cake then we bathe and off we went to the beach for dinner.

roses

How old am I? Well the cake came with 2 big and 3 small candles. So I guess I am 23 years old.

Let There Be Light

no light

Look at my son, so happy playing with the candle. He is actually sitting on our dining table. Hubby refrained him from playing but I stop him (hubby). Let him play lar. If his finger got burnt then he will learn his lesson. :P

Oh ya, the maid told me that during the black out, he allowed her to carry him (no choice mah, Mommy not around) and kept pointing to the switch and instructed her to switch it on.

Smart also my boy eh. :D

Generous with Mommy’s Money

Belle, Parenting, Shopping 3 Comments »

Belle came in the car (yesterday) telling me that

“Alvin wants a Spiderman sticker, Mommy. You buy 2 ok? One Spiderman and One Barbie.”

I was like, “Ermmm? Huh??? Did you tell Alvin that Mommy will buy Spiderman sticker for him?”

“Yes Mommy, you buy 2 ok?”

“Hey, you think your Mommy got a lot of money eh?”

“Yes.”

*hit my head on the steering wheel*

I imagined how she told him…

“Alvin, you want Spiderman sticker or not? My mommy will buy for you.”

I am sure she used the above line coz during playtime she always say the same to her sister.

Since Clarissa need to see the doctor; she is having fever and mouth ulcer again (suck finger punya pasal lar), we went to hunt for stickers at the same time. We went to mini market, don’t have. We went to Bintang shopping centre, don’t have. We went to 7 Eleven, don’t have. We peeped into the cake house; they have stickers but no Spiderman but Princesses stickers, Tweety bird and Pooh and Friends. They have only one Princesses sticker left; Belle grabbed that and Clarissa just settled for the Tweety bird.

Later that night, we went to Giant because there was black out in my kampong. The whole kampong was in darkness. Hubby couldn’t fix the generator so I suggested we just go somewhere. I am sure after 2 hours the power supply will be back. I pick Giant because there is a playground there which everyone can play for free.
.
Belle really thinks of her promise to her “boyfriend” Alvin. She kept her eyes wide opened for Spiderman sticker coz I did tell her that maybe bigger shopping complex like Tesco or Giant might have it. She immediately spotted one when we were on the way to the playground but I told her that we buy later. Unfortunately, by the time we came down, the shop already closed. Hehe…selamat duit gua. :P

Kakak

Barnabas, Belle, Clarissa, Family 2 Comments »

We have a helper. A temporary maid coz the one we applied decided to ditch us before even reach here. I think she can sense that it is going to be tough taking care of a big house and my DoReMi.

My two girls are to adapt the maid very fast especially Clarissa. I think she is so used to being cared by the maid in her kindy. During the award presentation, hubby saw Clarissa sat on a Malay lady lap. She must be the maid, I told him.

They know the function of a Kakak! Little bit, little bit Kakak. Become so pampered already, didn’t want to do things on their own!

As for Barnabas, he screams and wail when the maid carried or tried to carried him. He is still not use to stranger. He was so happy to see me come to fetch him home. In the car, he sings away. Very unusual of him! I think he feels so secure to have mommy with him! hahaha.

And…I heard him called “Kakak”!!!

I told him, “Hello! Mommy you don’t want to call, Kakak you can call??? Huh! Huh! Notti boy.”

He smiled.

Homeschool Your Children

Education, Family, Parenting 1 Comment »

I have always wanted to homeschool my children as I believe that home is where the children should first receive their education. Furthermore with the quality of the public school deteriorating due to lack of experienced and qualified teachers, all the more I want to homeschool my children. However the dollar and cent has always been the hindrance for me to do so. Since homeschooling is still new here, we do not have any local syllabus for homeschoolers. The homeschoolers get their materials from US or Australia. So only the rich can homeschool their children here.

I have good news to the American parents living in US who wants to homeschool their children. Check out K-12 Free Homeschool if finance is a big hindrance for you to homeschool your children. Yes, they provide tuition free homeschool syllabus. Now, why would they want to do that? Here’s how it can be tuition-free. There are people and organizations out there who understand the need and benefits of homeschooling. These people and organizations have generously donated some money so that you can get the best for your children. You can inquire more or maybe ask for K-12FreeHomeschool.org Course Catalog and see what is best for your children.

How I wish that they would extend their generosity to include families outside of the US. My family is not rich but we do believe in the need to homeschool our children.

Invest in Gold for Our Children’s Future

Finance, Parenting No Comments »

All of us have some kind of investment to secure a good future for our children especially when it comes to their education. Besides trust fund, bond, insurance, fixed deposit and create more blogs to write paid post, :P have anyone thought in gold investing?

If you look at the trend, gold has always been increasing. If it drops, only a little bit then, it will increase again. Our paper money can loose it value but I doubt gold and silver will loose it’s value. Banks are keeping gold as reserved for the paper money that they produced. Buying gold has been recognized for centuries as one of the best ways to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power.

So anyone wanna join me? :D

Giving In

Parenting No Comments »

As parents, no matter how much we love our children, we cannot give in to all their wants and desires. We will spoil them. I know of a parent that gave in to everything that the son wants and he ended up in drug rehab centre and until today, his father can’t comprehend why his son could do that to him.

I am not saying that I am perfect in disciplining my children. I am still learning and I am still caning when the need arises. :P Many times if I am in a generous mood, I always give in to their wants. Especially when it comes to buying toys for them. But when it comes to manners and bad characters, I don’t a give chance. Like how my parent brought me up. Even this beautiful lady commented that I have good manners when we chat on MSN.
