Dim Sum from Pasar Malam

Food, Health 1 Comment »

Yesterday, my mom bought for us Dim Sum from the Pasar Malam (Night Market) for dinner. The Dim Sum is so tasty. I suspected they add a lot of Ajinomoto (MSG). True enough, I got very thirsty after that and drank 1L of water within half and hour. When it comes to bedtime, I noticed that Barnabas and Clarissa can’t sleep. I gave them some water and they really drank a lot of it. After that only they are able to sleep.

Due to it, I woke up with a sore throat and am having cold now (runny nose) again. Clarissa is sniffing too. :( MSG really tears down our immune system! So, no more eating Dim Sum from Pasar Malam.

Traveling with Old Folks

Family, Holiday No Comments »

I won’t be traveling until next year because I have no annual leave and even though we are going to have long holiday this coming festive season, hubby will be working because his worker is a Muslim, celebrating AidilFitri.

I know lots of parents are planning to go for holiday during that festive season and one of them is coming to visit me. I am so excited to meeting her minus the family. :P

Btw, have you got travel insurance? Be sure to get one, you never know what might happen. Especially if you are bringing your parent and grandparent. It is not cheap to get travel insurance for your old folks but you can get low cost travel insurance from Cover My Travel. They can offer over 65 travel insurance policies for single trips up to the age of 79 and for Annual Multi Trip policies, cover can be provided for those aged up to 69.

Check out their website and get your insurance quote within minutes online.

Do You Want To Be Up There?

I started blogging in this blog since July 2004. At that time this blog is solely for journaling my pregnancy and Belle’s progress. I never knew what Page Rank is. Didn’t know that it existed until I was introduced to making money blogging end of last year. Then I discovered that I have a Page Rank of 4. Wow! PR4, I didn’t do anything to get that rank, I just blog and blog hop, met a lot of wonderful blogger out there. Did not even submit this blog to any blog community or ping service.

But if you are just started a blog and wanted at least PR1 in less than 3 months, then you got to work really hard. It took me 3 years to get PR4!

Blogging is like a business now; we want our blog to be at the top of Google’s search results because advertiser will sure give high pay out for you to write for them or just for a link on your sidebar. If you want all this, search engine marketing is what you should be thinking about but of course you must be willing to spend a lil bit more to pay Search Engine Marketing companies like USWeb to get your blog “up there”.

Making Dreams Come True

Belle, Education, Family, Finance, Parenting No Comments »

Belle danced in front of me last night while I was watching TV. She moves gracefully. Not everyone is born a dancer and I realized that she has the gift. But I felt sad that I might no make her dream of becoming a ballet dancer come true because I can’t find the time to send her to ballet class. I am a full time working mother and my husband is working at odd hours.

So, I am seriously thinking resigning from my present job so that I can have more time for my children and also time for me to study again and do the things that I love to do and make money blogging at the same time.

You know what I like to do? I would like to study English, maybe TESL, then start a blog to share about what I’ve learnt so that other bloggers can benefit from it and write better English in their blogs. Of course I will monetize that blog too. :P I would like to teach too, maybe in kindergarten or Montessori. If I still have time after doing all the above I would like to make fashion jewelry which I used to make when I was a teenager. Sold a lot of them too.

Hmmm…I don’t think I will be short of cash if I resign. There are a lot of avenue to earn money, if you want too. :)

Singapore Dollar

dollar

My children got their first Singapore Dollar last week when a friend of hubby’s sister came to visit. They are quite generous. Gave my MIL $100! Hubby can’t really remember how they are connected to the family. Hubby said, he might be one of his sister’s ex-boyfriend! So nice ya, still come to visit MIL. Btw, he came with his family. :)

What If?

General, Home No Comments »

We will never know what will happen to us or our properties. Only God knows. We are taught to take reasonable precautions to prevent any accidents or mishaps. That reminds me of the robbery that happened about a month ago at one of my neighbor’s house. Not only was she robbed, she was attacked until she fell unconscious. And all these things happened during broad daylight. The robber climbed over the fence and managed to break open the house door before ransacking the house.

When this news reached my family members, they were very troubled. The robbery occurred within walking distance to my house. Furthermore, there is no fence around my house and anybody can just drive in to the house. What if the robbers come to steal any valuable things but did not find any? Would they then hurt my children or my mother-in-law? Would they set the house on fire in their frustration? Wah…if that happens, then I would lose all my things. Maybe I should consider buying home insurance for my house. Hmm… will ask my husband about it.

Mommy’s Boy

Look at this handsome boy of mine. Does he look like a girl? Does he has a girly face?

barnabas1

Since his front hair grew slightly longer covering his once upon a time bald forehead, new people that we met thought that my Barnabas is a girl.

So far, none of my girls are mistaken for a boy so I expected the same for my boy, he has the boy look since baby.

Hubby said, maybe it is due to his sweet smile just like daddy *ahem* people mistaken him for a girl. Hello! Sweet smile like Mommy, not Daddy. :P

I am still searching for my 1 year old photo. Barnabas’ look and smile is exactly like mine. :D

Magic Words

Belle, Education, Parenting No Comments »

“Today No School”

“You can use the Computer”

“We are going shopping/holiday/beach”…anywhere except school.

“You can stay at Mama’s house after school”

The above are the Magic Words that can cause my girls to wake up instantly without grumbling or crying.

Today, I don’t even have to wake Belle up. She woke up earlier by 15 minutes and tells me that she wants to use the computer! Since her daddy just went to bed, and to kept the house in peace (no screaming and no wailing), I allowed her to use it for half an hour while I do some sweeping, washing and hang the laundry before getting the girls ready for school.

Based on the Glossy Blue theme.
