His 1st Tooth

Barnabas, Parenting 3 Comments »

Finally his 1st tooth emerges last night. Bottom right. I was hoping that it will be later as he still suckles on my nen-nen.

Last night, when breastfeeding him to sleep, he experimented his 1st tooth by biting my nipple! Thank God he is gentle with it. Bite a lil bit, wait for my response. I told him, “Don’t bite!” He bite again and I repeated what I said earlier. It went on a few times. On the last bite, he looked up and smiled at me! Notti boy :P

Beware of Shavina

Family, Parenting 1 Comment »

She is only 15 months old. She may be small but don’t ever bully her. This is what happened to a big bully (according to my brother, a very fat boy, bigger than Belle) at Tesco Playground.

As Shavina was trying to climb the slide, the big fat bully, waited for her to reach the top and gave her a sidekick! She tumbled down like Jill in the Jack n Jill children’s rhyme. She did not cry, as there are lotsa balls at the bottom. My brother waited to see what she would do next.

She stood tall. Grabbed a ball in her hand. Waited for the big fat bully to slide down. Wallop him with the ball! The big fat bully parent saw what happened, quickly apologize to my brother.

I think the Indian blood in her is very thick. Fearless and revengeful. That’s what her mother told me.

So, if you see her at any playground, please remind your children. Don’t play play with that girl ah!

Clarissa, Parenting No Comments »

In the car yesterday evening.

Me: Clarissa, do you love mommy?
C: No.
Me: You don’t love mommy?
C: Yes.
Me: Why don’t you love mommy?
C: Don’t know.
Me: Don’t know?
C: Yes.
Me: Love mommy lar.
C: Don’t want!

She answered me without much thinking and promptly. See lar, my 2nd girl don’t want to love me.

For a lil while only. :(

Let’s say, he drinks 3 ounces. He will hold it for the first 2 ounces and play with the balance. Put into his mouth, pull it out, shake it around, turn it around, suck the bottom of the bottle, turn it around, and get his t-shirt/pjs all wet! If I hold it for him, he will finish it.

When I hold it, he will wilingly let go of the bottle. Lazy bum.

When your jiejie 8 months old ah…mommy can sleep thru the night already. When they get up for milk, mommy will prepare for them and jiejie will drink by themselves and mommy go back to sleep. No need to wait for jiejie to finish. You ah..going to be 9 mths soon. Have mercy on mommy lar…let mommy sleep more. :P

Post Spring Cleaning 3

Family, Marriage 1 Comment »

Let me finish the Post Spring Cleaning post. I have not actually finish cleaning the house and get her back to her normal self. Wanted to do some mopping this morning but too sleepy to get up early. Woke up at 3am, to sponge my boy for one hour till he finally stop whining and sleeps.

There are still a lot to do. The plates, the bowl, the spoons, the containers and the periuk belangga are not arranged properly and some doesn’t belong where they are placed now. The fridge also needs some cleaning and re-arranging. Tables need to be folded. Curtains need to be wash and kept. Outside floor needs to be washed. Slippers need to be collected and kept.

Just imagine that the house was occupied by 16 adults and 19 children during the CNY week.

Because I concentrated so much in cleaning the house, my room is dusty and in a mess! If I clean my room, got no time left to clean the whole house. If people come, they will say I very lazy coz never clean the house.

Dunno when I can complete it all.

Velcro baby

I subscribed to BabyCentre UK for weekly development for my babies but I hardly read it. I used to read it every week when I have only one child, now with another 2, I assume everything is the same. However, my husband still reads it. Here’s what he found out about 8 months old babies.

“If you asked many babies of this age what their ideal world would be like — and they could tell you — their answer would probably be a world in which their primary caregiver never, ever left their side. Some people call these babies clingy, others call them demanding… and they are demanding. If you leave the room to go to the loo, they cry piteously. If you go into the garden to hang out some laundry, they whine until you come back. If your baby is like this, remember that the best ways of helping him through this anxious phase are to understand his concerns: he really, truly does not know if you will ever come back, once you are out of his sight. To help him feel confident about your coming and going, and to reassure him that you will always come back, never slip away when he isn’t looking. If he knows that you could vanish at any moment, he may well become even more anxious…”

That is my Barnabas. Now I understand the reason he is so so clingy. Next time, before leaving his sight, I will talk to him and let him know where I’m going and keep him within my sight. I just hope he won’t cry so much if he sees me.

Fever…bathe them

Health, Parenting No Comments »

I left this computer and tried to nap at my desk but I just couldn’t do it. Complied some data for my colleague to prepare the EA form. After that I’m fully awake.

I’m here not to talk about that. I want to talk about fever. During my mom’s time, when the children is having fever, the doctor will advise not to bathe them. Just wipe them clean with warm water. Now is my time as a mother, the doctor will tell me to bathe them with lukewarm water when they are having fever. But when I am having fever, I will definitely shiver if I take a shower! But for children, they enjoy being in the water when they are having a temperature. Weird. I am also advised to let them wear as little clothes as possible and don’t cover them with the blanket. I will sure wrap myself up in a blanket until I sweat it out.

So, that’s what exactly I did with my children. When they wake up sweating, I’ll undress them and let they go around naked for a while. Once the sweat is gone and the temperature went down slightly, I give them a quick bath. It works.

But why the same does not apply to the adult? I will try Google about it. Let you know if I find out the answer. :)

Too Sleepy To Bloghop

I wanted to catch up on ALL the blogs in my links but after 3 blogs, I really cannot tahan already. My eyes can hardly stay open! While driving to office after lunch, I forced my eyes to stay open. I need to rest my eyes now and my nose is twitching too. Sign of lack of sleep, if I don’t catch up on my sleep, will sure catch cold one! :(

Sleepless in BR

Barnabas, Belle, Clarissa, Health, Parenting 2 Comments »

Another sleepless night for me. My boy was not able to sleep well due to his fever.

I brought all of them to the clinic in the afternoon. Gave them medicine. Belle slept from 5pm till 8.30pm. When she got up, I noticed some rashes on her neck and her body was covered with red patches, very slight. She said it was itchy. Hmm…must be the antibiotic. No more antibiotics after that.

Clarissa slept for 2 hours but my boy only dozed off for 15 mins only. Later managed to get them to sleep by 10.30pm. My boy having a slight temperature but I did not gave him any medication. While washing the dishes, I heard him cried. Gave him some fever syrup, carried him for a while, he slept. Then I continued with my washing and cleaning till 11.40pm.

Around 12.30mn, he woke up. Vomited and his pyjamas was soaked with his sweat. Undress him and carried him out to cool down his body. Around 2.30am, he woke up again. Dapped his forehead with wet hanky. He slept.

4.30am, he woke up again. Gave him some milk but he didn’t wanna sleep after that. His temperature is high again. Hubby carried him, he cried. I tried breastfeeding him to sleep but to no avail. I gave him some fever syrup again. Finally at 5am, he slept after carrying him around the room.

My alarm triggers at 7am. Time to get up to go to work. I am so so so sleepy.
