BabyPlus is Music

Clarissa 4 Comments »

A few soon-to-be mother has been emailing me asking about Babyplus. I started using this with Kiki. Below are some of the advantages:

# Born with little crying, open eyes - Can’t remember as I was crying in pain but she did open her eyes on the first day.

# Longer newborn attention spans - Think so.

# Parental voice recognition at birth - Definitely. Especially Belle’s voice.

# Newborns sleep better - the first month, she drank every 2 hours during the day and every 4-5 hours at night. In between she sleeps. After the 3rd month, she sleeps thru the night for 8 hours straight then woke up, drink, sleep again for another 4 hours. In between, she will nap 2 hours or more. And she suck well too and very fast. So my arms wasn’t tired breastfeeding her.

# Closer family bonding - This works with breastfeeding too.

# Accelerated developmental skills - She started standing at 6.5 month.

# Early coordination and walking - Holding her own milk bottle by 6.5 months and walking steadily by 11 months old.

# Extraordinary language abilities - She can pronounce words that we say clearly by 10 months. Not much baby talk that we hear from her.

# Musical and creative talents - Still early to say but she will definitely dance to the sound of music and she loves playing with her baby piano. She even dance to the beat of BabyPlus! To her, it is not just the “thump, thump” sound. It’s music to her.

# Social skill - She is very socialable, active and friendly. A smiling baby too.

Those are some of it. If you have the money, invest in it. No harm. :D

Think and talk too much about re-marrying. The last before I went to bed last night was reading hubby’s reply to FF comment. And NO we did not do “it” last night :P

I woke up this morning feeling tired and sleepy but I couldn’t figure the reason. As I was doing my “business”. I recalled that I had a dream about getting married all over again unfortunately hehe fortunately with my hubby. The wedding ceremony part.

It was chaos. No proper planning about what should happen on the day before, in the morning of the day itself, luncheon, tea-ceremony etc. Luncheon supposed to be at 2pm, my make-up artist only turns up at 2.20pm without any jewelry and make-up set! I have to go around in my wedding gown, borrowing other relatives make-up. Different stuff from different person.

At the restaurant, no sitting arrangement. I was sitted in between my dad and my in-law and the table is so small, just enough for 5 people but they make us sqeeze with 5 others. No table clothes, no deco, no music…

I never want to re-marry again! So much hassle and heartache. Dreaming about it also makes me angry, tired and frustrated!

Will U Re-Marry?

My wife asked me whether I want to marry again if she die first. I told her “NO”. She didn’t believe me and ask me why. I told her, “I don’t want to go through the hassle of getting married again.”

So, my dear friend, as much as you want your wedding ceremony to be the best and perfect one, you’ll enjoy it better if you can appreciate the beauty of simple and ordinary things/ceremony.

The above was a comment left by hubby in a friend’s blog.

This question has been lingering in my thought after reading it:

Will you re-marry IF you do not have to go thru all the hassle? Meaning, the future 2nd or 3rd or 4th wife will just settle for marriage registration at the Registrar of Marriage. No wedding ceremony. Will you?

My Mommy

By Belle.

She loves to draw and do colouring lately. I did not teach her how to draw. She drew it all by herself. I was wondering, where did she learn how to draw like that.

Yesterday, while I was waiting for my mom to finish feeding Kiki her dinner, I accompanied Belle watching JoJo Circus. One of the cartoon character is Tater, the potato. He looks almost like the above! Now I know. hehe.

Anyway, the above is me. During cell group meeting last Friday, Belle told me that she wanted to draw mommy, and that’s what she came out with. :D

Since she’s into drawing, hubby said it is time to teach her to write her ABC. Last night, I gave her a marker pen and teach her to write A on the whiteboard. But she came out with other alphabet other than A. She wrote a crooked A that looks like R, and told me that’s R. Couldn’t disagree with that. Then told her to write B, she wrote half way, and came up with a P, then told me that’s P, then D also appeared. Later T, then C, then I, then I wanna draw mommy but not A!

Daddy came into the room and told her if she writes A, he will give her an ice-cream. It tooks her quite something to reciprocate and finally she gave us 2 beautiful A. She knew it but just refuse to write it!

Little Miss Vainpot and others

Belle, Clarissa, Dove, Food, General 8 Comments »

We had a wedding on Sunday. Hubby’s older brother. One year older than him. To me, it is just another wedding with lots of people, lots of food and kids running around the house.

The above is my little miss vainpot. It was taken at the restaurant where we had our luncheon. She requested her highchair to be placed in front of the mirror instead of at the table. While waiting for the food to arrive, she did her drawing. Look at the mirror; make funny faces, looking at herself eating her food etc. Later a cousin joined her, then another cousin, then another.

That’s Kiki with a floorball stick trying to hit the ball with it. Never got it though. Later she left the “game” and joined other cousins playing with the sand.

The above are photos taken by Belle. Not bad huh? But she didn’t get her mummy’s head though! Good also lar…then I can post my pix here. Not so petite anymore ya? Hehee.

Since the cousins are still around on Monday and I did not get enough rest on Sunday, I decided to take half day off and sleep in. Woke up at 10am. Later SIL received an sms from a missionary friend that he and his family is on the way to Malacca and asked to recommend an affordable place to put a night. We offered our place (foc) since we got plenty of rooms available (7 rooms, 3 occupied). We got to play host since that SIL is going back to Ipoh right after lunch. So, I took the whole day off and tag along.

The husband is from Holland, Rodney and the wife, Vivien from Philippines. Young couple with a 4 years old son, Samuel and a 2 years old daughter, Mariah. Beautiful kids. They wanted to see the Stadhuys and the historical site in Malacca, so we dropped them down near the Ship and we (hubby, Belle and myself) hang around at Mahkota Parade until they are done.

For dinner, we brought them for Ikan Bakar (grilled fish). I didn’t know that the restaurant is very near the straits (sea). It’s a beautiful scenery. Most of the time, when I went there, the sun is already down but yesterday; we arrived there at 6pm where it is still bright.

After dinner, we brought them for a walk at the Klebang beach. I didn’t go with them though coz Belle was soundly asleep in the car so, I have to accompanied her.

It was nice having a missionary couple with us, where we can catch a glimpse of their life. A life that we will lead someday. They are going back to KL today and then back to Holland next week.

Auf wiedersehen (I wonder whether this is Dutch, but it is definitely Deutsche).
:D

Rojak

General 8 Comments »

Today I decided to write in my own language. My mother tongue, which is now my 2nd language after English. Only speaks it with my parent, siblings, MIL and mixture of it (rojak) with hubby. Bahasa Baba Nyonya.

Hari ini hari ulang tahun perkahwinan gua yang kelima, legally. The actual wedding ceremony on May 12.

Semalam kita orang pegi Sampan Bistro for dinner to celebrate it. Lepas tu, straight balik rumah sebab hubby mo prepare teaching materials dia untuk hari empat & hari lima ni. Dia dijemput untuk kasi talk kat budak-budak Christian at the Alor Gajah Khidmat Negara Kem.

Gua cuba kasi dua ekor anak gua tu tido siang so that dia orang tak kaco bapak dia and gua bole sambung tengok cerita Casanova.

By 9.45am, gua start tukeh baju dia orang, gosok gigi Belle and feed them milk. Settle them in bed and say their good night prayer. Tapi dia orang mo main lagi. Kiki panjat atas badan gua and buat gua macam horsy dia. Belle pulak, giggling away. Hmmm…so gua kelueh bilik sekejap to put the laundry in the washing machine. By the time, gua masuk bilik balik, tengok Kiki dah tido and Belle stood up, asking for daddy.

Ok lar…gua bawak Belle kelueh and teman gua tengok cerita Casanova. Dia takda lah nakal sangat macam Kiki so gua bole tengok cerita gua in peace.

Oh ya…some of you might be wondering…no hanky panky after that. Semua orang terus tido after the cerita habis :P

Based on the Glossy Blue theme.
