The 4Ps

General 2 Comments »

When I am driving alone, these are the 4Ps that I usually do.
1. Pick my nose (eeewww, i know some might think, how gross i am but i am not the only one who does it! hehe)
2. Pray (this I do usually in the morning)
3. Ponder (think about God, myself, my life etc. A few times, I almost forgotten to fetch my colleague from her house after lunch because i was busy pondering. heh.)
4. Plan (no point just thinking and thinking and no action taken)

On the way back from lunch just now, as I was pondering on my spiritual walk with God, I know that I have not been having consistent fellowship with him. Reason: Couldn’t find the time! Then something strikes my mind (sure the Holy Spirit one) . ‘How come you can wake up earlier to exercise on the cross trainer but could not do the same with Me?’ Oh O…Ya I could do that. Today after completing my exercise and bathe, I still have time before sending the children to my mom’s. Should use that time for my quiet time rather than going back to bed! Good idea. Thank You, Lord.

Heaven is So Real

The book “Heaven Is So Real” does not claim to be Scripture. And it is not Scripture. It is a testimony of one who claimed to be taken to heaven. The emphasis of the book is that Heaven is real and Jesus is coming soon. The book should motivate us to get right with God, to obey Him and be prepared of His Second Coming.

Finished reading the book Heaven Is So Real last night. The author of the book is Choo Thomas, a Korean-American lady who is currently living in the States. Heaven Is So Real is all about her experience being brought to heaven and hell by Jesus, about her preparation and training by Jesus himself for the ministry that God has planned for her. To me, Heaven Is So Real is a wake up call to all Christians to prepare them for the second coming of Christ. Not all who call themselves Christian will go to heaven. Read “The Parable of the Wedding Banquet” Matt 22. Only those that are pure-hearted and obedient can enter heaven. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” Matt 5:8. In the book, Jesus mentioned that He would be coming sooner than we expected.

This morning, the moment I step in my mom’s house, she asked me “Did you know that there was an earthquake here last night?” Earthquake in Malaysia? The news hit me hard! Jesus is really coming very very soon. On the way to office, I prayed that the Holy Spirit will help and guide me prepare myself for His coming. I do not want to be like the foolish virgin in “The Parable of the Ten Virgins” Matt 25. Then the thought of so many of my loves ones that are not saved made me cry. My tear was mixed with the feeling of fear too. Will I be rapture or will I be left behind to go through the tribulation?

We are the reason

We are the reason that He gave His life.
We are the reason that He suffered and die.

Yesterday, we went to City Bayview for a Good Friday service. We had a presentation by a group from Singapore “Crosswind” and a preacher, Michael Tan from Eagles Communication.

My hubby was so happy that the preacher remembers his name after meeting him twice only. Maybe the french beard made him so distinct.

10 reasons why I marry my husband. Part 2.

1. He fears God. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” Proverbs 9:10. “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its room are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” Proverbs 24:3.

2. His life purpose. To serve God and God alone. He is a full time minister in a local church here.

3. Very Chinchai (Not a fussy man). Not particular on the clothes he wears or the food that he eats. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Matthew 6:25 Read on Matthew 6:25-34.

4. Loves children but does not like to take care of them! Only found out about it after we have our own children!

5. Generous. He likes giving even though he does not have much to give. Especially to those who does the work of God.

6. Commitment. He is committed to his family. he is committed to make the marriage last. He is committed in loving me. Commitment, commitment, commitment.

7. I love him! Very much :)

Some of you might think that I have a perfect husband. The answer is “NO”. He is not perfect. I choose to look at the positive side of him rather than the negative. Many tend to focus too much on the negative side of people until their eyes are blinded to see the good side of people. We are a human being. We make mistakes, we sin, we are not perfect. It all depends on our attitude. Look at ourselves first before we judge others.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your won eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:3-5.

Think about it.

The first 3 reasons (randomly):

1. Slow to anger. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires” James 1:19-20. He does not get angry or irritated over small matters. To me or to other people. Even when he gets angry, he does not confront me there and then. He will wait until he cools down, and then talk to me. He never raised his voice at me. Very soft-spoken. Even his mom can’t hear what he says, sometimes.

2. He is funny (gila-gila) and also a serious guy when he needs to be. He makes me laugh, he makes me think and he makes me cry (sometimes).

3. A Baba. Must continue the generations of Baba-Nyonya. He is actually my granduncle from my great grandmother lineage. Same family background and traditions, easier communication. We speak the same language, we eat the same food and live the same lifestyle.

Sleep, originally uploaded by miche.

Below is the list of daily confessions given to me by a church member as prayer guidance during pregnancy. Would like to share it to mom and dad-to-be.

6. The blood of Jesus purifies everything that goes into the baby to keep it perfect.
7. The baby is going to be delivered on when the Lord has foreordained.

Did I miss out anything?

Seven Wonders of the World

General No Comments »

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present “Seven Wonders of the World.” Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, “Yes, a little. I couldn’t
quite make up my mind because there were so many.”

The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”

The girl hesitated, then read, “I think the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’ are:

1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love.”

The room was Silent. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous! A gentle reminder — that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

Equinox?

General 1 Comment »

Read paper the day before, saying that there will be 14 hours of daylight yesterday. Went for a walk at the beach with hubby and children. Belle is so afraid to walk near the water! Did she sense that tsunami might be coming again??? As we were walking we noticed a “belangkas” trapped in a fish net. My hubby being a Good Samaritan when to look for broken glasses to cut free the “belangkas”. While waiting for him, Belle played with the sand and I sang Kiki to sleep in my arm. 7.30pm, the sun set as normal. What happened to the equinox? Anyway, Belle refused to leave the beach. Let hubby handle her.

As I was walking towards my car, a young couple stopped me. They spoke in Chinese. I said, “I do not understand Chinese, can you please speak in English?” They asked, “Malay can ah?” Then the young man started saying something in Malay to which I do not understand a single word he says! Then, the young lady explained in better Malay that they are doing a research whether I will agree if they were to set up an electrical warehouse here. I asked, “Where?” She said, “Around here”. I sensed that there is hidden agenda here.

Since Kiki is sleeping in my arm and that are lots of mosquitoes around, I asked hubby to take over. They asked a few questions like, when you purchase electrical item, you go for brand or price? You pay by cash or installment? Then, they thanked my husband on the feedback. As a token of appreciation, they gave my husband a coupon. Mystery gift. She said, mostly is a “Thank You” note, some you might get electrical item. She confirmed my suspicion! They are trying to sell some electrical item. The so call research is just a gimmick.

My husband, being a patient and tactful man, took the coupon and open it. Inside was a picture of 3 electrical items. They pretended to be very surprise, asking whether we received the same before. She said, she does not know what is it and have to call HQ first. She pretended to call Ms Loh and spoke in Malay to her in a VERY LOUD voice, asking what does the coupons means etc. A Chinese speaking spoke to “Ms Loh” in Malay! She doubled confirmed my suspicion. I am not going to waste my time anymore and brought Belle to the car, leaving my husband to entertain them!

When we were in side the car, Belle tried to hurry her daddy by screaming “Daddy Come”. Finally daddy came in the car. I asked, “They are asking you to buy electrical item right? And by buying it, you can get other electrical item for free, right?” He said, “Yes”. If I were not carrying Kiki, I would tell her off the moment she spoke to Ms Loh! And will teach her a better way to do sales than tricking people with “research”.
