Pizza

Food 3 Comments »

Since the oven is still around (it belongs to my sis-in-law), I made pizza for brunch yesterday. Get my husband to knead the bread dough the night before. For topping, I used sausages, ham, mushroom and left over turkey stuffing from Christmas.
Just for my record:
Dry Yeast
1 Tsp Honey
1/4 cup warm water
Salt
2 Tsp Olive Oil
3 cups Flour
3/4 cup water

I hurt him again!

When you really love someone, it really hurts and you know that you are hurting them.
I hurt him when I decided to end the relationship many many year ago.
I hurt him when I told him about my new boyfriend.
I hurt him when I flirt with others.
I do not want to hurt him anymore because my heart ache knowing that he is hurting.

Greetings

You meet people in the morning, you greet them Good Morning.
You meet people in the afternoon, you greet them Good Afternoon.
You meet people in the evening, you greet them Good Evening.
Before going to bed at night, you say Good Night.
What about before sleeping in the afternoon?
I usually take afternoon nap with my children on weekends. Before sleeping, I’ll say nite nite to Belle, but then it is wrong. It is not night yet! So what shall I say?

A Durian Story

I am blessed with grandparent that planted durian trees with abundance of harvest each year when I was a kid. Other people who knows about their durian, will book a year ahead to purchase it. He is selling it for RM8.00 per kilo. (I don’t buy durian but I believe RM8/kg is very expensive). There were a few incidents that made me stop eating durian and disliking the smell.

My grandfather durian has this bitter taste, thick, yellowish, big and very creamy. The most I can eat is 1 piece. One piece a as big as my fist. If I go for the 2nd one, I’ll will gag and throw up. It happened a few times and made me gave up eating them because who likes to vomit every time you eat!

Another incident was, while eating durian, my baby tooth came out and I swallowed it! (extra calcium for tiny body). I blame the durian for it.

After not eating durian for quite sometime, I can’t stand the smell. Just by the smell of durian (unopened) make me gag. So, I will always lock myself in my room when other members of my family are having durian feast.

Now, I am staying at my in-law’s house that has a few durian trees. Since it is a normal kampong durian, the smell is not that strong. When I was carrying Annabelle in my womb, I started eating durian again. Maybe it was due to hormonal change. However, when I was with Clarissa, I can’t swallow it.

So far, we never have to buy durian. My boss has a durian orchard. When it comes to durian season, she will bring a van load of durians back to the factory for everyone to eat. My sister’s boss has a bigger durian orchard. Last year, her boss requested my dad (a pensioner) to collect the durians and selling it for them. (50 / 50). Everyday, there is durian at home.

Now, the durian trees are budding again. By mid of this year, the durian feast will start again. I wonder whether I will/can eat it this time around. We shall see…

The love of my life…

In His time, He makes all things beautiful. Let me share about how God makes all things beautiful for me, in His time.

I knew my husband when I was 17 years old. We met in a Peranakan Restaurant when working while waiting for our exams result. The restaurant is very near to the beach and we always go there to spend time with each other and pray. The prayer we uttered was “God, pls keep us together forever no matter what happen in our life”. After the exam result came our, I went to Form 6 and my husband to a local U, taking up law. (Yup, he was a lawyer, now a minister! God’s calling) As he was always busy with his studies and had financial problem, he seldom comes back home. I miss him terribly. So, we decided to end the relationship of 3 years and go our own separate ways. One thing that I always cherished about our relationship is, we never quarrel! I cried so much on the days he left my house after the break-up. I knew I have made the biggest mistake in my life! We continued to be friends and always keeping in touch.

Life goes on… He found a new girlfriend, me too (a boyfriend). I went to a local U also, in Penang. Far from home and boyfriend. My relationship with my new boyfriend is not a stable ones. We always quarrel! Many times I wanted to end it but he refuses. I gave him a year after I came back to Malacca to patch up things but to no avail. We ended the relationship. I was so happy this time! We are so not compatible spiritually.

In Malacca, we (me n husband) attended the same church. At that time, he already broke off with his girlfriend! They almost got married. I remembered, when he told me that his boss is starting another branch in Seremban and wanting him to manage it, I cried! He will be in his girlfriend hometown. I will loose him forever! Deep down I know I still love him very much but I kept it to myself. I dare not break anyone’s heart again. In September 2000, we went for a mission trip to the Iban’s in Sarawak. After the trip we decided to officially resume the relationship again. Our pastor knew about it, and other church member’s gave us their blessing including our parents. Pastor wants us to be engaged soonest possible as my husband is serving full time in church. Not nice to “pat tor” too long. We got engaged on husband’s birthday Dec 16, 2000. It was only 3 months of dating but we have no problem with it, as we knew each other for almost 10 years.

After we got engaged, pastor set another condition that it is advisable to get married within 6 months from the engagement day. We are committed to tie the knot but we have one major problem. No money! We only have 6 months to save up! We committed everything to God and plan the wedding by faith. We set our wedding day on May 12, 2001. We wanted to have our wedding ceremony in a hotel ballroom, as the church we are attending is quite small. The hotel personnel made double booking and we ended up having our wedding ceremony beside the swimming pool. A garden wedding instead. We were allowed to use the pool.

Instead of walking down the aisle, my husband wants me to float on a raft and walk down the aisle since we can use the pool. We tried making our own raft from steel drum but it wasn’t stable. I had fun trying it out and falling into the pool! The hotel artists saw what we were trying to do and offer to make a raft for us. I had a beautiful raft made from Styrofoam! As it cost us nothing. FOC. Praise the Lord. On my wedding day, the raft was attached to rope and being pull by 2 hotel personnel who was all the time in the pool. They volunteered.

Our exchanging of vows took place in the garden beside the swimming pool. We had our wedding dinner in the hotel ballroom. One of our church members offered to pay for the cost of the dinner. If angpow collected not enough, they’ll cover it. If extra, just pay them back the amount paid. At that time our saving was just around RM6000, which we used for our wedding album and tea ceremony. At the end of the day, we had a grand wedding ceremony and more than enough angpow money to cover our wedding cost. All glory to God. One of the tourist (from UK) that stayed in hotel even sent us the photos they took during our wedding!

So, we do not have to worry about money. We just commit everything to the Lord and He will give us the desire of our hearts.

Work Attire

Mid last year, my lady boss changed her office attire to a more formal outfit. Before, she always wears t-shirt to office. After she slimmed down, she changed her attire. When she wears informal, I also wear informal. When she changed, I was wearing maternity clothing. So, I went shopping yesterday at Mahkota Parade with hubby, belle & kiki. Shop at Reject Shop as I do not want to waste money on branded clothing. My belle followed me shop, and I’ll be asking her “nice or not”? Her answer is always “nice”! Bought 3 blouses and a tight skirt. All for RM101.60. Cheap eh. That’s all for this month. I allow myself to spend only RM100 per month for clothing/shoe. Next month, want to buy shoe. Need to save money to buy another apartment for Clarissa.

I want to be slimmer!

People around me is trying to loose weight. They make me feel so fat eventhough I’m not!
My Oper. Manager is skipping dinner. My husband skips breakfast and eat/drink oats for lunch. My bro-in-law skips breakfast and eat fruits for lunch. My auditor eats only organic vegetables, no meat! My colleague asking me how to get her tummy flatten without having to do any exercise. My lady boss also on diet and she exercise daily. My mom take less meat. Me? Eat everything under the sun and moon! But I need to exercise to tighten my flabby tummy after birth. But I can only do light exercise. Result is so slow! Must go for aerobic class after 6 months.

I’m a changed shopper!

I have changed and it is freaking me out!

Went shopping for CNY clothes. Bought only a pair of clothing for myself, a extra large BUM t-shirt for hubby which is too big for him (finding someone to give it away. anyone?), 2 pair of clothes for belle and kiki.

“Should I buy a new shoe?” I asked myself. “Nah…my shoe still good, don’t waste money”

Saw a nice blouse. Quite cheap < than RM20. “Should I buy? Nolar…got so many blouses in the cupboard. Don’t waste money” I told myself.

The shopping trip ended with me buying a toy car that cost RM69 for belle! Which is much more expensive than the blouse I wanted to buy.

When you have children, you place their interest and wants before you. Anyway, people don’t look at you anymore. (maybe they will look at your body whether it has gone out of shape after giving birth!) They will only notice your children. So got to keep them adorable and pretty.

So this CNY, only a pair of clothes, a 2nd hand jeans (given by my younger sister), no new shoe, no new bra, no new undies and maybe will go to MITC for a RM29 new jeans. HAH!

Maternity Leave to Annual Leave

General 1 Comment »

I’m going to accumulate 10.5 extra annual leave by working during my maternity leave. Was planning to go for holiday with my husband end of this year. However, received a call from my sis who just transfered to Kuching that she is pregnant! She wanted my mom to go there to care for her during her confinement in September. There goes my extra annual leave. Sop Sop Sop…
